Objectives
The EPWG's objectives are:
- to provide a forum for ongoing dialogue, and to raise awareness within the EU of the need for an integrated approach to:
- poverty eradication
- sexual and reproductive health and rights
- sustainable development
- the response to HIV/AIDS and
- gender equality.
- to monitor and increase resources (mainly from the EU) to meet requests for assistance for sexual and reproductive health programmes and the response to HIV/AIDS in developing countries.
- to respond to the need of developing country governments and agencies for support in implementing sexual and reproductive health policies and programmes.
- to respond to the need of developing countries and agencies for support in fighting the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
